In early trading MasterCard was down 2% and Merck shares were down 3.6%. Time Warner shares also fell 2.3%.
On the floor of the CME Group, veteran floor trader Danny Riley said, "Everyone down here thought the S&P was going to shoot up to 1600 but so far the news has not been good. With this morning's ADP numbers coming in 119,00 vs 150,000, traders down here are a bit concerned about Friday's jobs numbers. It has kind of thrown things off base but we can't forget the first trading day of April has the DOW up 12 of the last 15 years."
