The Palace Confirms Kate Middleton Is Pregnant!
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are expecting a baby, St. James's Palace just announced.
The BBC is reporting Middleton was admitted this afternoon to King Edward VII Hospital in central London with morning sickness.
Since the pregnancy is in the very early stages, she is expected to remain in the hospital for the next few days to be treated for hyperemesis gravidarum, which requires supplementary hydration and nutrients.
"As the pregnancy is in its very early stages, Her Royal Highness is expected to stay in hospital for several days and will require a period of rest thereafter," the royal family said in a statement, adding that they only learned of the pregnancy "recently" as Middleton is not even 12 weeks along.
It was the Duchess's medical condition that prompted today's announcement.
But despite the health scare, "The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Harry and members of both families are delighted with the news," read the statement.

According to the BBC, the unborn royal baby, who is third in line and in direct succession to the throne, will one day "be head of the armed forces, supreme governor of the Church of England and head of the Commonwealth, and subsequently head of state of 16 countries."
Despite the news, a pregnant Middleton was photographed getting physical while playing field hockey at St. Andrew's School, her alma matter, on November 30.
After getting engaged in October 2010, the Duke and Duchess wed on April 29, 2011, at Westminster Abbey in London.
