Pamela Anderson says Donald Trump paid her $500 to attend his birthday party: 'I was hired to be there'
Pamela Anderson is never a boring interview. The actress-turned-Julian Assange spokeswoman sat down with the Hollywood Reporter for an interview that touched on everything from politics to her side gig as a magician’s assistant.
The animal rights activist has been popping up in the political sphere over the past few years, but just because she’s BFFs with Vladimir Putin doesn’t mean she’s pro-Trump. In fact, Anderson says she voted for Jill Stein after Bernie Sanders was no longer in the 2016 presidential race.
Anderson, 50, reveals that she met Trump before and wasn’t impressed. “I think it was his birthday,” she explains. “I was hired to be there. We all were paid like $500 a day. He was with a wife — I don’t know which one — but he was nothing special.”
Indeed, the Playboy pinup was at a 2005 birthday event for the future president at Trump Taj Mahal. Melania was there too.

About that Tommy Lee-Brandon Lee altercation…
People were shocked when Tommy Lee and his 21-year-old son, Brandon, whom the rocker shares with Anderson, got into a physical altercation last month. However, the Baywatch actress seems pretty unfazed by it all.
“I stay out of it,” she says.
That would seem easier said than done, considering the brawl started over her. Brandon was reportedly defending his mom after the Mötley Cruë drummer’s derogatory tweet making light of his alleged abuse during their marriage.
“The kids are adults, and they make all their own decisions,” Anderson states. She also shares son Dylan, 20, with Lee. “I look at the differences in their personalities and their fearlessness and their ambition and their clarity, and I’m just so proud of both of them.”
Kid who? She hasn’t spoken to Kid Rock since 2007.
Anderson reveals that she hasn’t talked to another ex, Kid Rock, since their divorce 10 years ago. While on the subject of husband No. 2, the actress says she isn’t buying his whole pro-Trump, Confederate-flag-loving persona. “When he was with me, he didn’t hunt. I don’t think he was very Republican, but now he is,” she sighs. “Oh well.”
She’s not bothered by those Vladimir Putin rumors.
In fact, it seems like Anderson enjoys them. When asked about whispers that she is seeing the Russian president, Anderson laughs, “I love this question.” The author notes that when Anderson is asked about her relationship with Putin, she doesn’t actually give an answer.
Anderson and Putin became friends in 2015 after she wrote a letter to him asking that a shipping vessel carrying endangered fin whale meat be blocked from passing through Russian waters.
She’s cool with those Julian Assange romance rumors too.
Anderson’s relationship with the WikiLeaks founder has perplexed many, but to the actress it makes total sense. She doesn’t elaborate on how they became friends, only that they met “years ago.”
She adds, “We talk about everything. … We talk about the Bible, we talk about what’s happening with my kids, what’s happening with his family. It’s not just about politics, even though I do take a lot of notes, and it’s so overwhelming, the information he gives me.”
It’s been a month since they last spoke, as his internet has been cut off by the Ecuadorian government.
“He’s cut off from everybody,” she frantically says. “The air and light quality [at the embassy] is terrible because he can’t keep his windows open and he can’t get any sunlight. Even prisoners can go outside, but he can’t. I’m always bringing him vegan food, but he eats very simply. I talked to him on the phone the day [his internet] was shut off. He sent me an urgent call. And now, nothing.”
She adds, “He’s so misunderstood, especially in Hollywood, and really hated, because of the Clinton monopoly on the media.”
She is still dating Adil Rami and said au revoir to California.
Anderson gave up her life in Malibu (she’s renting out her place to “some businessperson from New York”) and moved to France to live with her 32-year-old soccer star boyfriend.
“I always knew I was going to live in the South of France at this time in my life,” she says. “Since I was doing a lot of photo shoots here for Playboy, like 20 years ago, I wanted to live here so bad. I had done Malibu very well, you know? Like with Baywatch and Soho House and walking around with my dog. I felt like the mascot of Malibu. And I just wanted out of there.”
Problems we all have.
She’s still acting but had one really interesting side job recently.
Although Anderson plans to work in front of the camera (she will shoot a French-language movie with director Philippe Lacheau this summer), she has kept busy in other ways. Her last professional gig was as a magician’s assistant in Hans Klok’s magic show touring the Netherlands and Germany.
“It was one of those things that ICM said, ‘You’re never gonna wanna do this,’” she recalls of discussing the job with her agents. “And I said, ‘This is the only thing you’ve brought me that I want to do!’”
Regarding that #MeToo backlash, she’s not sorry.
Anderson ruffled feathers during an interview with Megyn Kelly when she said that Harvey Weinstein’s victims should have “known what they were getting into.” The actress is doubling down on those remarks.
“You need to have that Spidey sense or whatever it is that this is not right,” she exclaims. “When someone answers the door in a bathrobe, don’t go in that room. Or if you go in the room, get that role. [Laughs.] Sorry, now I’m really in trouble. I remember Revlon and Guess jeans both offered me huge campaigns, and I didn’t feel right about going into a room and sitting on a bed. I just had this sense that this was not going to go well.”
Anderson says the most unpleasant professional encounter she’s had was over the casting of the 1992 Steven Seagal movie Under Siege.
“I remember him saying to me, ‘If you don’t do it, then that girl across the hall will do it, and she’ll get the job,’” she recalls. “And I said, ‘Well, good, goodbye.’”
