BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (AP) _ Pampa Energia SA (PAM) on Monday reported a third-quarter loss of $228.6 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.

On a per-share basis, the Buenos Aires, Argentina-based company said it had a loss of $3.02. Losses, adjusted to account for discontinued operations, were $3.01 per share.

The electricity company posted revenue of $843.1 million in the period.

Pampa shares have declined 50 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Monday, shares hit $33.33, a drop of 48 percent in the last 12 months.
