Peoples Financial Services: 2Q Earnings Snapshot

SCRANTON, Pa. (AP) _ Peoples Financial Services Corp. (PFIS) on Tuesday reported second-quarter earnings of $6 million.

The Scranton, Pennsylvania-based bank said it had earnings of 81 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring gains, came to 78 cents per share.

The holding company for Peoples Security Bank and Trust posted revenue of $24.4 million in the period. Its revenue net of interest expense was $21.3 million, which topped Street forecasts.

Peoples Financial Services shares have increased slightly since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $46.70, a climb of slightly more than 8 percent in the last 12 months.
