Perrigo sells Fla. manufacturing plant to Medline

Perrigo says Medline bought personal hygiene product manufacturing plant; terms not disclosed

NEW YORK (AP) -- Perrigo has sold a personal hygiene product manufacturing plant in Florida to Medline Industries Inc.

The companies did not disclose terms. Medline will use the facility to make products including enema and douche products, as well as and oral saline laxatives.

Perrigo is based in Allegan, Mich., and it makes over-the-counter and generic drugs, drug ingredients, and nutritional products. Medline makes Curad bandages and says it is the biggest privately held maker of medical and surgical supplies in the U.S. The company is based in Mundelein, Ill.

Shares of Perrigo Co. fell $2.17 to $11.71 in morning trading.
