(the "Company" or "Pershimco") (TSX VENTURE:PRO)(BIZ.F) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. John Kapetas and Mr. Octavio Choy to the newly created positions of Vice-President Exploration and Vice-President Latin-America, respectively.
The promotions of these two highly experienced and dedicated professionals are in line with the Company''s optimization of its corporate structure, overseeing the 175 engineers, geologists, administration professionals and other employees who are all contributing to Pershimco''s continued growth and international development.
Mr. Kapetas, B.Sc. Hons, MAusIMM. MAIG, an Australian citizen, will lead the Company''s exploration and geological programs at its projects in Panama, Canada and Mexico. His responsibilities will include resource development, exploration planning and management, quality control, and new project evaluations, as well as the associated budgetary planning and control.
Mr. Choy, a dual American and Panamanian citizen, will supervise operations in Latin-America, primarily overseeing the Company''s two offices in Panama. He will also be responsible for the Mexican subsidiary and all future developments within the region. Mr. Choy''s responsibilities also include maintaining a positive image of Pershimco''s presence in Latin America, helping to ensure that our projects are developed using the highest ethical standards towards our workers and the surrounding communities.

Mr. Kapetas completed both his Bachelor of Science and Honors degrees in geology at the University of Adelaide in Australia. He is a member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, the Australian Institute of Geoscientists, and the Society of Economic Geologists. With over 20 years of experience in the industry, he has worked on international exploration projects in Australia, Southeast Asia, Africa and Latin America. Recently, Mr. Kapetas was V.P. Exploration & Resources Development at Petaquilla Copper Ltd., where he oversaw the development of that company''s copper-gold resource and was involved in the transaction leading to the sale of those assets to Inmet Mining Ltd.
Mr. Choy brings over a decade of precious metals and mining experience to the Company, including several years involved in project financing and metals merchant trading. Most recently, he served as the General Manager for Petaquilla Copper Ltd., and V.P. of Commercial Operations for Petaquilla Minerals Ltd. He was a key member of the team that brought Petaquilla Minerals Ltd. into commercial production, assisting in successfully closing both equity and debt financing for the construction and commissioning of the Molejon Gold Plant. He also helped create the construction team for the process plant and helped manage cost control and budget plans.
