Pete Davidson has been covering tattoos following Ariana Grande split, comedian reveals
Pete Davidson has revealed that he’s been covering the tattoos that he acquired during his relationship with ex-fiancée Ariana Grande.
Earlier this month, it was revealed that the comedian and the singer had called off their engagement following a whirlwind five-month romance.
During their relationship, the pair marked their commitment for one another with several tattoos, including matching cloud designs and a bunny-eared mask behind Davidson’s left ear in tribute to Grande’s Dangerous Woman album.
On Saturday 20 October, Davidson made his first stage appearance since their split at the Judd & Pete for America comedy show at Largo at the Coronet in Los Angeles.
The Saturday Night Live comedian was co-hosting the event, with money being donated to the Swing Left political campaign.
During his set, Davidson said that he’s been “covering a bunch of tattoos” since the break up, jokingly saying that the experience has made him feel afraid to have his mother tattooed on him due to his bad luck with inkings.
He explained how his friend had provided him with reassurance when the media initially mocked his and Grande’s tattoos during their engagement.
“So, obviously you know I, we broke up or whatever but when me and her first got engaged we got tattoos,” he told the audience, according to E! Online.
“And it was like in a magazine like, ‘Was Pete Davidson stupid?’ And 93 per cent of it said yes.”
Davidson’s friend urged him not to be offended by the magazine article, describing those criticising the comedian’s tattoo as “haters”.
However, in retrospect, Davidson and his friend realised that it may not have been a wise decision after all.

“The other day we were in my kitchen and he was like, ‘Yo bro. Turns out you were stupid,’” Davidson said.
According to a study conducted by Chicago-based skincare clinic Advanced Dermatology, 29 per cent of people who’ve had a tattoo that they regret say that the tattoo had a significant meaning.
Furthermore, 15 per cent of those who’ve had regrettable tattoos say that the ink was supposed to symbolise a romantic relationship.
Last week, Grande made her first public appearance since her split from Davidson, performing for NBC’s A Very Wicked Halloween televised concert.
During her performance, the singer wore a plaster over her fourth finger on her left hand, where she has the name “Pete” tattooed.
