Pete Davidson officially confirms engagement to Ariana Grande: ‘It’s so lit’

While making a rare talk show appearance on Wednesday’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, SNL star Pete Davidson officially (and finally) confirmed his engagement to pop singer Ariana Grande. When Fallon joked that Davidson didn’t need to get engaged to Grande — a Tonight Show staple — to be invited on the show, Davidson had the perfect response: “But I did though.”

Davidson went on to describe what it’s like to be engaged to Grande, using words like “lit” and comparing himself to New York Yankees legend Derek Jeter when he mentioned how many guys have been tipping their caps toward him as he walks down the street. Davidson even claimed that he has inspired people.

“Some dude came up to me and was like, ‘Yo, man. You like, gave me hope,’” Davidson said. “I’m like, ‘I didn’t know I was that ugly.’”

And before the couple gets too far into wedding planning, Fallon made sure to offer the Tonight Show as a potential venue for their nuptials.

“It’s not happening,” Davidson said with a shake of his head.
