In the latest trading session, PetroChina (PTR) closed at $53.92, marking a -1.7% move from the previous day. This move was narrower than the S&P 500's daily loss of 2.91%. Elsewhere, the Dow lost 2.73%, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq lost 0.25%.

Prior to today's trading, shares of the oil and gas company had gained 15.21% over the past month. This has lagged the Oils-Energy sector's gain of 16.13% and outpaced the S&P 500's gain of 0.84% in that time.
