PetSmart sinks with weak outlook

Sales, Profit Forecast Disappoint

PetSmart's quarterly profit narrowly beat expectations, but sales totaled just $1.88 billion. Analysts had forecast $1.89 billion. It also predicted full-year earnings of $3.76 to $3.92 a share, missing the $3.93 Street number. PETM drops 8 percent before the bell on my tradeMONSTER platform.

NQ Mobile Rallies on Strong Results

NQ Mobile earned $0.23 a share in the fourth quarter, crushing the $0.16 average analyst estimate. Revenue more than doubled to $30 million, beating the $29 million consensus. Guidance was also strong. NQ, which lit up our Heat Seeker a month ago, rockets 24 percent in early trading.

James River Coal Falls on Production Cut

James River Coal is cutting production by 3 million tons. Activity was halted at five underground mines and slowed at three surface locations. Some 400 jobs were eliminated. JRCC drops 12 percent in the premarket.
