Piksel Launches at IBC, Announcing New Global Sales Team

Meet Piksel People at Booth 1.C30 at IBC

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Sep 11, 2013) - Piksel, a global provider of 'over-the-top' video monetization software and solutions, has announced the appointment of Daniel Thunberg as Senior Vice President Commercial, EMEA / APAC and Mitch Askenas as Senior Vice President Commercial, Americas.

"Supporting the growth of our customers during this dynamic period in our industry is what we're keenly focused on. The expert technical and business development skills of Piksel Commercial Team allows us to provide the insight and support that's so valued by our customers. Daniel and Mitch's team will play an instrumental role in growing our business and focusing our capabilities on multi-screen video technology," said Piksel's Chief Commercial Officer, Kevin Joyce.

Mr. Thunberg joined Piksel 18 months ago, after over a decade with Irdeto, and has been promoted from the role of SVP Sales - APAC. Experienced in creating and executing successful strategies in sales, account management, partnerships, and business development, Mr. Thunberg is an expert in the broadcast, OTT and multi-screen space.

"It's an exciting time to be at Piksel. This is a company that's delivering the best in OTT and digital asset management solutions and doing really innovative things in every region it operates in. We'll be continuing to pioneer emerging markets, while at the same time enabling the ongoing innovation of our blue-chip clients in Europe and the Middle East," said Mr. Thunberg.

Mr. Askenas brings more than two decades of executive experience in sales, business development, and engineering, focused in the digital TV ecosystem. Prior to joining Piksel, Mr. Askenas was Director of Business Development at Miranda Technologies, responsible for delivering digital TV management and monitoring solutions to top cable and IPTV operators worldwide.

"I'm thrilled to be joining the Piksel team -- a company that's been a television industry pioneer for many years. North America continues to be a watershed market for over-the-top, especially as cable TV adjusts to the new 'TV Everywhere' reality, and Piksel is uniquely positioned to help these companies make the leap. Additionally, Latin America is booming and we see an incredible range of opportunities there as well. I'm looking forward to growing Piksel's business in these markets, " said Mr. Askenas of his new role.
