Pink confirms that her feud with Christina Aguilera is over in sassy Twitter rant

Pink has taken to Twitter to confirm that she and Christina Aguilera are no longer enemies, revealing that they have “made amends” following a feud that spans over a decade.

The pair are thought to have fallen out in 2001 when recording ‘Lady Marmalade’, the cover track for Moulin Rouge!, together alongside Mya, Lil’ Kim, and Missy Elliot.

Speaking out in 2009, Pink admitted that she struggled to work with Christina because her executives didn’t want to treat the other women on the sing fairly.

She explained at the time: “[Label executive] Ron Fair walked in. He didn’t say hi to any of us and said, ‘What’s the high part? What’s the most singing part? Christina’s going to take that part,’

“And I stood up, and I said ‘Hi. How are you? So nice of you to introduce yourself. I’m Pink. She will not be taking that part. I think that’s what the f*cking meeting’s about’.”

Neither Christina or Pink have said much else about the feud over the years, however, when a Twitter user tried to take the shine off Pink’s MTV Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, the singer was keen to set the record straight.

With it being announced earlier this week that Pink was taking home the coveted award at next Sunday’s VMAs, a Christina fan tweeted: “Let’s celebrate @Pink’s Vanguard Award with the only relevant video of her career, starring as Xtina backup singer”, alongside a gif from the ‘Lady Marmalade’ music video.

Retweeting the original message, Pink wrote: “Want to point out an awful new phenomenon of the last 10 years. We can no longer be happy for each other. I heart Xtina, we’ve made amends….

“Music brings us all together. The best part of music is there’s room for everyone to win at the same time. Don’t be what’s wrong w/da world.

“Let’s be an example of inclusion and celebration. You don’t have to like me at all, I’m ok with that. Just be a decent person. And you’re f*cking Rip Van Winkle if you’ve never seen one of my videos. [sic]”

Nicely said.

Christina has not yet commented on Pink’s Twitter revelation, but here’s hoping for another collaboration between the two stars in the not-so-distant future.
