Pioneering In-Store Retail Technology Solution Showcased At EuroCIS

DUSSELDORF, GERMANY--(Marketwire - Feb 19, 2013) - Following a successful U.S launch, a loyalty marketing solution that helps retailers taps into a billion-Euro opportunity in-store is being introduced to Germany at leading trade show EuroCIS (19-21 February, Dusseldorf).

The innovative Synqera platform uses Big Data analysis to generate highly personalized, data-driven content to shoppers in real time, as a tool to drive up-sell, cross-sell, and provide a better, more engaging customer experience.

Synqera, a global technology start-up, originally designed its first-of-a-kind solution to convert the 40 seconds of ''dead'' time an average shopper spends at POS into additional purchases and loyalty. However, its intrinsic value in nurturing loyalty across the retail environment has led to its evolution, and at EuroCIS the pioneering Synqera platform will be showcased on both an intuitive POS payment terminal and a printer located at the store entrance.

The Synqera platform can utilize customer data (such as gender, age, mood and purchase preferences), alongside business intelligence (current promotions, stock levels) and external information (e.g the weather) to trigger relevant content to consumers in real time via its scenario generation engine. Content can include relevant promotions, offers, deals, discounts or even games, which can be screened on a range of hardware, from POS, to store entrance, information kiosks and beyond.

This is the first time a software solution using Big Data has been developed to provide personalized media communications for on-the-spot marketing across a range of devices, harnessing the potential to bring together in-store, mobile and online and meeting demand from retailers for a true multichannel approach.

Kirill Gorynya, Synqera CEO and founder explains: "The foundation for our Synqera platform was research showing that billions are spent on impulse buys in-store - and that we could help retailers use the idle time at the crucial POS to encourage higher value purchases.

"Because we''re constantly developing our concept, at EuroCIS we''re excited to unveil a new evolution, showing how the sophisticated Synqera platform can also be integrated into a printer located at store entrance, which will allow customers to print off bespoke shopping lists, coupons and more."

Simplate is the intuitive POS terminal, which is NFC-enabled for contactless payment, has a magstripe-reader, a touch screen, a camera and microphone for capturing physical information, such as a smile. In addition to contactless payment, emerging mobile wallet and online systems, such as Paypal are supported. Furthermore, its internet connectivity provides a valuable opportunity for online businesses to engage customers in an offline world.

The Synqera Loyalty Printer can read loyalty cards and features a colorful touch screen, a barcode scanner, NFC/swipe function and thermal printing. Using Synqera software, personalized shopping lists, coupons and special offers can be delivered to the customer. Furthermore, an app enables an NFC-ready mobile phone to save and share shopping lists, recipes and promotions.

Gorynya added: "Our technology offers a customized experience, based on sophisticated targeting and personalization, which was previously only available in an online environment. For retailers this solution has the potential to bring endless channels for better customer service and additional revenue, while for customers it provides a tailored and engaging shopping experience."

The Synqera software platform can be applied to other third party devices and interfaces, offering a unique proposition for customer loyalty, a sales channel and an intelligent marketing tool.
