PivotBoss: The Art of Teaching

Danny Riley

The Art of Teaching
One quality of a great trader is his ability to share and teach other traders. It’s one thing to be able to talk about the markets but the markets are a different thing when you’re actually trading, doing the work day after day. As I have said many times, in recent years the retail traders are a lot smarter than they used to be and it’s guys like Frank who are helping that process. Some educators claim to know how to trade but they don't know how to express themselves. Their presentations always seem to be missing something, but not Frank’s. He knows his stuff and can not only teach it, but trade it, too.

The Collective
Everyone has a magic carpet and at MrTopStep we get many such “masters” asking to join our team. In order for us to evaluate a trader it sometimes takes several months of looking at their work and studying their trading. As soon as Frank started in the MrTopStep room I could see that his trade levels were right on. Being the nice man that he is, he was cautious in the beginning and didn't want to step on anyone’s toes. But after a few weeks he started plugging away and is now part of the MrTopStep “collective” of great traders.

Maybe a few years ago and certainly before electronic trading a good retail trader could make a few bucks “trading futures” but with algorithmic and program trading making up as much as 70% of the daily volume traders need to employ new strategies. That only can be done two ways. The first way, you go out and re-educate yourself. Go out and learn as much as you can by your own trial and (sometimes costly) error. Or you can go to a pro like Frank and have him teach you the ropes. I believe the latter is both easier and more fruitful. You will be trading sooner with a method that is already proven and tested.

Great Webinar
There are “okay” webinars and there are great webinars. PivotBoss put on a great one. A number of people asked for copies. You can imagine how upset I was when Omnovia told us they had a problem saving the video.

When we could not reproduce it I was worried Frank would be upset, but true to his nature, Frank said he had no problem doing it over. That didn't stop me from pushing Omnovia to search their archives and produce the video. Almost 10 days after the event we finally got it.

After writing today's PivotBoss story above, I went back and listened to the whole broadcast. Though my intent was just to check the video quality, once again I was drawn in by the quality of Frank’s teaching. I knew it was good, but after seeing it again I think its one of the most educational webinars MrTopStep has ever done.

We’re proud to be able to share with you this amazing event. New and experienced traders alike will benefit from both the method and Frank’s way of teaching and embodying a professional’s psychology.
