SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (AP) _ Plantronics Inc. (PLT) on Tuesday reported a loss of $25.9 million in its fiscal second quarter.
On a per-share basis, the Santa Cruz, California-based company said it had a loss of 65 cents. Earnings, adjusted for amortization costs and stock option expense, were $1.24 per share.
The headset maker posted revenue of $461.7 million in the period.
For the current quarter ending in January, Plantronics expects its per-share earnings to range from 1 cent to 31 cents. Analysts surveyed by Zacks had forecast adjusted earnings per share of $1.57.
The company said it expects revenue in the range of $383 million to $423 million for the fiscal third quarter. Analysts surveyed by Zacks had expected revenue of $496.1 million.
Plantronics expects full-year earnings in the range of $2.94 to $3.74 per share, with revenue ranging from $1.72 billion to $1.81 billion.
Plantronics shares have climbed 19% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $39.43, a decline of 35% in the last 12 months.
