SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (AP) _ Plantronics Inc. (PLT) on Tuesday reported a loss of $41.7 million in its fiscal third quarter.
The Santa Cruz, California-based company said it had a loss of $1.06 per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were $1.36 per share.
The headset maker posted revenue of $501.7 million in the period.
For the current quarter ending in March, Plantronics expects its per-share earnings to range from $1 to $1.30.
The company said it expects revenue in the range of $456 million to $486 million for the fiscal fourth quarter. Analysts surveyed by Zacks had expected revenue of $505 million.
Plantronics shares have climbed 21 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $39.96, a drop of 28 percent in the last 12 months.
