Here are six things to know about it:

  • Game creator Niantic announced that the event will be launched tomorrow, Friday, Oct. 20.

  • A number of new monsters available to capture will be released into the world starting then. Several new characters will be available, including Sableye, Banette, as well as a “few other ghost-type pokemon,” according to Niantic.

  • The Pokemon Go Halloween event will run until Nov. 2, and it will include a number of other new additions.

  • Unsurprisingly, a plethora of ghost pokemon will appear with more frequency, including Gastly. You’ll be able to catch a Pikachu while wearing a witch’s hat.

  • You will also have the opportunity to get a Mimkyu-themed hat to dress up your trainer

  • Niantic added that more additions to the game will come in December, including new creatures from Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire.

The announcement for the Pokemon Go event comes about a year after the first of its in-game events initiated with the first Halloween celebration, followed by the expansion of augmented reality in gaming and various other segments of the tech industry.
