Police chase in Lincoln County ends in crash, according to sheriff's office

The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office arrested a Sioux Falls man after a chase through Tea, according to a post on their social media page.

LCSO deputies attempted to stop a vehicle at about 2 a.m. Friday near Tea for a traffic violation. The driver, identified as an 18-year-old male, failed to pull over and a chase was initiated in the area of 271st Street and Katie Road, according to the post.

The pursuit went through the city limits of Tea and then continued to the central part of Lincoln County. The vehicle lost control and crashed a short time later at the intersection of 276th Street and 469th Avenue, according to the release. The driver was taken into custody without incident.

The driver sustained minor injuries in the crash and was checked out by paramedics on scene. Deputies then took the driver to the Minnehaha County Jail and booked him in on charges of aggravated eluding, reckless driving, speeding and other traffic related charges, according to the post.

LCSO was assisted on scene by the Tea Police Department, Lennox Police Department, Canton Police Department, Lennox Ambulance, and Dave’s Towing.
