Pollo Tropical® Partners With National Kidney Foundation As Part Of National Kidney Month Awareness Campaign

Brand Will Donate $1 For Each Pie Sold to the Foundation's Florida Initiatives

MIAMI, March 6, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- As part of National Kidney Month, Pollo Tropical® is partnering with the National Kidney Foundation in an awareness and fundraising campaign.  From March 4 through March 17, the brand will donate $1 for every pie slice purchased to the National Kidney Foundation of Florida.  Guests can choose from Key Lime Pie, Cheesecake or Pecan Pie, through orders placed at the restaurant, placed online for pick up, or for the brand's convenient new delivery option. Additionally, Pollo Tropical will promote National Kidney Month at all participating restaurants, and also partner with the Foundation's Florida Kidney Walk events taking place March 17 in South Florida and March 24 in Southwest Florida.

Through March 17 as part its National Kidney Month initiative, Pollo Tropical® is donating $1 for each Key Lime Pie, Pecan Pie or Cheesecake purchase to the National Kidney Foundation to raise awareness and funds for the organization.

While Pollo Tropical has a strong history of community involvement and fundraising, the National Kidney Foundation holds a special place to the brand due to its personal connection with Richard Stockinger, CEO and President of Fiesta Restaurant Group (parent company of Pollo Tropical).

People of African American, Hispanic, Native American, Asian, or Pacific Islander descent are at increased risk for developing the disease.  Hispanics are nearly 1.5 times more likely than non-Hispanics to develop end stage renal disease (kidney failure).
