Post Malone is a simple man, really. He prefers Bud Light, thoroughly enjoys Olive Garden, appreciates a sensible shoe such as Crocs, and loves his fans. This week he proved just that by giving away free pairs of Crocs at a Texas fast food joint.

To make this even more wholesome, the giveaway took place at Chicken Express, the same fast food restaurant that Post worked at as a teenager, according to CBS News. This was way before he was Post Malone and was known as Austin Post.

In a 2018 interview with Vanity Fair, Post talked about his experience working at the chicken stop: “I think being humble is important. I worked here because I was trying to make some money so I could buy some Versace shoes.”

Well, while Austin Post may have wanted some Versace shoes, Post Malone knows there's nothing quite like a functional pair of shoes on your feet. The rapper has collaborated with Crocs on a few projects, the latest being the Posty x Crocs Duet Max Clog that he was giving out to lucky customers at Chicken Express, as reported by the Daily News.

Restaurant goers had to order the The Posty Special, a $6 meal made up of chicken, fries, and the surprise of Post Malone's upcoming Crocs collab. Unfortunately, the singer wasn't at Chicken Express handing them out, but the gesture itself is proof he hasn't forgotten his roots...and that every fast food meal should come with a pair of shoes from here on out. Just a thought.
