CHICAGO (AP) _ Potbelly Corp. (PBPB) on Monday reported a loss of $2.4 million in its third quarter.
The Chicago-based company said it had a loss of 10 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 4 cents per share.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was breakeven on a per-share basis.
The sandwich restaurant operator posted revenue of $104.2 million in the period.
In the final minutes of trading on Monday, the company's shares hit $4.88. A year ago, they were trading at $11.66.
