Fabio Jakobsen secured Deceuninck – Quick-Step's 24th win the the season by claiming the third stage of the Tour of Turkey.

Bora-Hansgrohe's Sam Bennett retains his lead at the top of the general classification after finishing in the leading pack. He has a 20-second lead over team-mate Felix Großschartner.

It wasn't without incident for Jakobsen, however, after a flag got caught in his shifter with the finishing line approaching.

Jakobsen said after the stage: “I was a bit far back going into the final kilometre, but I remained calm and confident. Max (Richeze, his team-mate) started his lead-out 400 metres from home and I left it late, because of the headwind. I got a little bit close to the barrier, as the wind was coming from the left, and a flag got caught in my shifter, but fortunately without any consequences, and I could finish off my team’s amazing work."

Stage four is 184.1km between Balıkesir to Bursa
