Among the many nods that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry made to their past during their wedding day was a small, very sweet detail they included in their bridesmaids' uniforms to honor Harry's late mother Princess Diana. Her granddaughter Princess Charlotte and the other little girls wore white flower crowns that had Diana's favorite flower, Forget-Me-Nots, in them.
The crowns and bouquet, selected by Markle and Harry and arranged by florist Philippa Craddock, have the same flowers as Markle's wedding bouquet does, which was also a tribute to Diana.
"The spring blooms include Forget-Me-Nots which were Diana, Princess of Wales’ favorite flower," the Palace wrote on its site of Markle's bouquet. "The couple specifically chose them to be included in Ms. Markle’s bouquet to honor the memory of the late Princess on this special day." Additionally, there were "scented sweet peas, lily of the valley, astilbe, jasmine and astrantia, and sprigs of myrtle, all bound with a naturally dyed, raw silk ribbon."
