Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas Confirm Their Engagement With Matching Instagrams
After a month of rumors, Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas have finally settled the matter: they’re engaged.
On Instagram, the actress posted a picture of the two embracing. She laid her hand—adorned with a large diamond ring—on his chest. “Taken,” she wrote, “With all my heart and soul.” She geo-tagged their location as Mumbai. Earlier this week, reports said that the couple were having an engagement party in Chopra's native India. “It's going to be the first time that their families intermingle and get to know each other,” a source told E! News. “It's a tradition for them to meet before the wedding and Priyanka's family insisted on hosting the Jonas family in their country.”
Jonas posted the same picture as his fiancée, geotagging his location in Hindi. He captioned his, “Future Mrs. Jonas. My heart. My love.”
Later, Chopra posted a slideshow of the whole affair. The first picture has them holding hands in front of a sign that says "NP"—presumably standing for their initials. Following images include the couple with their families, and participating in a roka ceremony, a traditional pre-wedding ritual in which both families gather and exchange gifts, while the couple confirm they wish to get married. “The only way to do this... with Family and God. Thank you all for your wishes and blessings,” Chopra wrote.
News of Chopra and Jonas’s relationship first broke earlier this summer, and the two reportedly got engaged in London this July. They were first linked together at the 2017 Met Gala, however Priyanka insisted they were just friends. “We were both wearing Ralph Lauren, and we decided to go together, because it was fun,” she told Jimmy Kimmel.
