Progressive Care Inc. Garners Coverage in MedTruth

MIAMI, April 18, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Progressive Care Inc. (OTCQB: RXMD), a personalized healthcare services and technology company, today announced that it has garnered media coverage in MedTruth in an article titled, Three Alternative Ways to Recover from Opioid Addiction.

“It is important to keep alternative methods in the forefront for individuals who are taking opioids to address the pain they are experiencing,” said S. Parikh Mars, CEO of Progressive Care Inc. “In addition to the alternatives that Progressive Care provides, there are other alternatives that can be sought out in hopes to lower individual’s dependence on opioids and fight the epidemic.”

In the article titled Three Alternative Ways to Recover from Opioid Addiction, published April 10, 2019 in MedTruth, Mars explains that the alternatives to recovering from opioid addiction depends on what kind of pain the patient is experiencing. Mars says, “You want to identify the source of your localized pain and treat it right in that area. The methods of alternatives can be taken in combination. There are a lot of things that I would want to stress at this point is that these alternatives can be more effective for that pain. In terms of opioids, we shouldn’t be looking at strength, we should be looking at effectiveness. Every person feels pain differently and the opioids isn’t the only answer for that. We need to be thinking about a nuance approach to pain and if a doctor prescribes you a pain cream from a reputable pharmacy that might work better for that pain and give someone a better quality of life than an opioid ever could, we must be open to new solutions.”

In the article Mars explains three different methods that can be used as an alternative to opioids. The three methods highlighted are acupuncture, mindfulness & meditation, and cognitive behavior therapy (CBT). “Safe and natural ways to ease pain include acupuncture, chiropractic care, and massage. These three methods are proven to release dopamine endorphins to improve bodily functions. By focusing inwards, meditation can create a healthy alternative to painkillers. A study on JAMA concluded that people with chronic back pain saw improvement after 26 weeks of practicing meditation. With chronic pain, comes emotional pain as well. Extreme pain can take a toll on someone’s emotional well-being. CBT offers treatment with depressive thoughts and allows patients to focus their negative feelings elsewhere.”

Progressive Care works to provide patients with alternatives to opioids. One of the ways they do this is with customized compound lotions to relieve pain quickly while also reducing the patient’s dependence on opioids. Progressive Care’s wholly owned subsidiary PharmCo, LLC is in the top 10% in the nation evaluated by Humana Inc. and will continue to provide top-of-line services to their patients to fight the opioid epidemic.

The recent media coverage comes after the company’s efforts to provide its network with more healthcare informational resources through PharmCo Pharmacy.
