DUBLIN (AP) _ Prothena Corp. (PRTA) on Wednesday reported a loss of $23.6 million in its first quarter.
The Dublin-based company said it had a loss of 59 cents per share.
The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 60 cents per share.
The drug developer posted revenue of $141,000 in the period.
Prothena shares have declined 25% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $11.92, an increase of 13% in the last 12 months.
