DUN LAOGHAIRE, Ireland (AP) _ Prothena Corp. (PRTA) on Thursday reported a loss of $22.5 million in its fourth quarter.
The Dun Laoghaire, Ireland-based company said it had a loss of 56 cents per share.
The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 96 cents per share.
The drug developer posted revenue of $194,000 in the period.
For the year, the company reported that its loss widened to $155.6 million, or $3.93 per share. Revenue was reported as $955,000.
Prothena shares have risen 24 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $12.75, a drop of 59 percent in the last 12 months.
