GROWING INTEREST IN EVALUATING ADOPTION
The Company is actively developing growing interest of a number of QSR chains to perform in-store comparative efficacy tests, stimulated by the consistently compelling results achieved in the testing by PURE's initial market-leading QSR customer and the growing market awareness of SDC as a superior antimicrobial disinfectant for food contact surfaces. The three new QSR chains that PURE is working with cover a range of store "footprints" (from average to very large), and therefore, the anticipated product usage will vary accordingly.
- In-store areas being tested include critical food contact surfaces such as food preparation counters, slicers and customer service counters, in addition to dining tables, beverage machines and ice dispensers.
- In addition to quantitative efficacy testing, the QSRs will also record feedback from employees using PURE Hard Surface. In previous testing, employees have consistently preferred PURE over incumbent products due to the fact that it is easy to use, non-caustic and odorless with no skin or eye irritation.
"We are working with a growing group of forward thinking QSR chains and are confident that the in-store testing will continue to validate SDC as a superior antimicrobial disinfectant and sanitizer. This will prove to be a major step in dramatically reducing food safety risk," said Cliff Wechsler, PURE's Executive Vice President of Sales.
EXPANDED REGIONAL ROLLOUT COMPLETED FOR LEADING QSR CHAIN
Over the past 30 days, the Company successfully completed the previously announced expansion of PURE Hard Surface usage to 650 units of a leading QSR chain in three regional markets. The operational test is expected to run another 30-45 days. The initial feedback from the chain, and the stores using the PURE product, has been very encouraging. Subject to continued positive customer feedback, PURE expects the chain will move forward with a national, system-wide rollout this summer.
"We are encouraged to see a growing number of QSR chains of all sizes willing to test, evaluate and adopt our technology as a way to enhance their food safety practices," said Hank R. Lambert, PURE's Chief Executive Officer.
THE BENEFITS OF SDC
PURE Hard Surface delivers powerful broad-spectrum antimicrobial effectiveness while maintaining low toxicity (Category IV as defined by the US EPA), and its active ingredient, SDC, has been determined Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) for use as a biocide on food processing utensils, equipment and machinery. Created specifically for use on areas such as produce slicing equipment, food preparation counters, customer transaction counters, dining tables, soda machines and ice dispensers, PURE Hard Surface achieves a 96% improved efficacy performance compared with typically used disinfectants/sanitizers.
