Following the recent announcement that the Royal Family are hiring a new Director of Royal Travel to take care of their jet-setting plans, Buckingham Palace are now advertising a new job vacancy.
The new job, which is titled Head of Digital Engagement, is based in the Private Secretary's Office at Buckingham Palace and basically involves managing The Queen's social media. We post on Insta every day, which means we're qualified, right?
The job will pay £45,000 to £50,000 a year and applications close on 24 December, with interviews taking place in January.
The role description states that the job involves maintaining "The Queen's presence in the public eye and on the world stage."
The advert continues, "The role of Royal Communications is to engage a worldwide audience with the public role and work of The Royal Family. Joining this fast paced and dynamic team, your challenge will be to lead on and develop our digital communications strategy, and ensure that we make effective use of a range of digital platforms to support these aims."
Does this mean we'll be seeing The Queen on Snapchat in the near future, then?
The role description adds, "Whether you're covering a State Visit, award ceremony or Royal engagement, you'll make sure our digital channels consistently spark interest and reach a range of audiences.
"With an eye to the future, you'll work to hone and shape our digital communications through understanding new technologies and stimulating creativity."
Reckon The Queen is a fan of a good Boomerang? We could be finding out very soon.
