Questcor names Angus C. Russell, former chief executive officer of Shire, to board

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) -- Biopharmaceutical company Questcor Pharmaceuticals Inc. said Monday that the recently retired CEO of Shire PLC, Angus C. Russell, has been added to its board.

Russell was CEO of Shire, also a biopharmaceutical company, for five years. Before that, he was an executive at pharma companies ICI, Zeneca and AstraZeneca.

"We look forward to benefiting from Angus' 32 years of experience in the specialty pharmaceutical industry as we continue to focus on the treatment of patients' serious, difficult-to-treat autoimmune and inflammatory disorders," said Questcor chairman Virgil Thompson.

Questcor shares rose 30 cents to $36.59 in midday trading. The stock has traded between $17.25 and $58.91 during the past 52 weeks.
