Raiders add talented Clemson cornerback in latest PFF mock draft

For the last several months, most 2022 mock drafts had the Raiders picking somewhere in the middle of the round. Occasionally, you would see them drafting inside of the top-12 and certainly never outside of the top-15 picks.

But now, the Raiders are guaranteed to have a selection in the 20s in this April’s draft. After winning four straight games to finish the season, they have made the playoffs and thus, their draft spot will be lower.

However, there are still a bunch of talented players that could be available for the Raiders in the latter part of the first round. One such player is Clemson cornerback Andrew Booth, who Pro Football Focus has the Raiders drafting at pick No. 23.

Here is why they believe would be a perfect fit in Gus Bradley’s defense in 2022:

“With Damon Arnette gone and Trayvon Mullen banged up, the Raiders need to address the cornerback position once again. Booth has serious ball skills for a corner and finished the season on a tear.”

The Raiders have their slot cornerback of the future in Nate Hobbs and the hope is that the team can bring back Casey Hayward Jr. in free agency. However, the overall cornerback depth on this team is not great and needs an influx of talent.

Booth is one of the most gifted cornerbacks in the class and could be available late in Round 1. Don’t be surprised if Booth is among the final considerations for the Raiders in the first round come April.
