Raiders first-round pick Gareon Conley cleared in sexual assault investigation
No charges will be brought against Oakland Raiders cornerback Gareon Conley, a first-round pick who was accused of sexual assault by a woman just before the NFL draft.
Conley was accused of rape but maintained his innocence. The Cleveland Police Department had a long investigation into the case. A grand jury determined there would be no charges.

On April 9, Conley met a woman and they went back to his hotel room in Cleveland. She accused him of having sex with her after she told him to stop. Witnesses said Conley did nothing wrong. Conley maintained the allegations were completely false.
The Raiders believed in Conley’s innocence and used a first-round pick on the talented cornerback from Ohio State, even though the investigation was ongoing. Now that he has been cleared, Conley can move on with his NFL career.
