Raiders still looking to add talent at LB with reported attempted signing of Mychal Kendricks

Two of the first free agent additions to the Raiders this offseason were linebackers Cory Littleton and Nick Kwiatkoski. They come in to overhaul the linebacking corps in Las Vegas and appear to be significant upgrades for the team.

Now the position is potentially one of the stronger on the team, which means you’d think they were set with them and some young talent behind them.

Apparently that’s not the case because according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the team recently attempted to sign free agent Mychal Kendricks.

Kendricks suffered a torn ACL in the Seahawks’ season finale and was sent to injured reserve for the playoffs.

His injury is what has kept him from signing anywhere up to this point, because teams couldn’t host players for tryouts until this week. The report doesn’t stipulate what contract terms they on which they couldn’t agree, but with an injury such as this, often times teams are unwilling to commit a lot in terms of guaranteed money or prefer to put the money in the form of playing time incentives.
