Railroad seen gaining on rivals

Improvements in speed, efficiency and an expanded U.S. network may give Canadian National Railway (CNI) an edge amid growing concerns over declining coal shipments, which have hurt other railroads, RBC Capital Markets said. The railroad's reliable service has helped it recently woo customers, like Chrysler, away from key rival Canadian Pacific Railway, the researcher said in upgrading Canadian National to outperform. It rose 0.8%.
