Bank7 Corp. (NASDAQ:BSVN) shareholders will have a reason to smile today, with the analysts making substantial upgrades to this year's statutory forecasts. The analysts greatly increased their revenue estimates, suggesting a stark improvement in business fundamentals.

After this upgrade, Bank7's three analysts are now forecasting revenues of US$54m in 2021. This would be a decent 18% improvement in sales compared to the last 12 months. Statutory earnings per share are presumed to climb 14% to US$2.56. Before this latest update, the analysts had been forecasting revenues of US$49m and earnings per share (EPS) of US$2.23 in 2021. There's been a pretty noticeable increase in sentiment, with the analysts upgrading revenues and making a decent improvement in earnings per share in particular.

With these upgrades, we're not surprised to see that the analysts have lifted their price target 8.8% to US$24.67 per share. Fixating on a single price target can be unwise though, since the consensus target is effectively the average of analyst price targets. As a result, some investors like to look at the range of estimates to see if there are any diverging opinions on the company's valuation. There are some variant perceptions on Bank7, with the most bullish analyst valuing it at US$26.00 and the most bearish at US$21.00 per share. Still, with such a tight range of estimates, it suggests the analysts have a pretty good idea of what they think the company is worth.

Another way we can view these estimates is in the context of the bigger picture, such as how the forecasts stack up against past performance, and whether forecasts are more or less bullish relative to other companies in the industry. The analysts are definitely expecting Bank7's growth to accelerate, with the forecast 39% annualised growth to the end of 2021 ranking favourably alongside historical growth of 4.9% per annum over the past three years. Compare this with other companies in the same industry, which are forecast to grow their revenue 3.9% annually. Factoring in the forecast acceleration in revenue, it's pretty clear that Bank7 is expected to grow much faster than its industry.

The Bottom Line

The most important thing to take away from this upgrade is that analysts upgraded their earnings per share estimates for this year, expecting improving business conditions. Fortunately, analysts also upgraded their revenue estimates, and our data indicates sales are expected to perform better than the wider market. Given that the consensus looks almost universally bullish, with a substantial increase to forecasts and a higher price target, Bank7 could be worth investigating further.

Even so, the longer term trajectory of the business is much more important for the value creation of shareholders. At Simply Wall St, we have a full range of analyst estimates for Bank7 going out to 2023, and you can see them free on our platform here..
