The World Rally Championship's 2019 summer break is finally coming to an end this weekend with a favorite event of ours: Rally Finland. It's the fastest rally weekend on the calendar, and always provides plenty of airborne action.

Drivers took to the shakedown stage on Thursday to suss out the tree-lined gravel surface, with Toyota driver Ott Tänak setting the quickest time. Organizers shared in-cabin video of Craig Breen's shakedown run on YouTube, which placed him in a respectable third:

The real event began on Friday, with Tänak retaining his current championship position after six stages. He's followed closely by teammate Jari-Matti Latvala, with a gap of just 5.4 seconds separating the two drivers.

There are just seven points separating the three top performers this season, with Tänak in front, followed closely by Citroen driver Sébastien Ogier and Hyundai driver Thierry Neuville. It's one of the closest battles the WRC has seen in several seasons, so Finland could be a deciding factor for anyone running at the top of the leaderboards. We can't wait to see how it plays out.
