Danny Green has made no secret of his passion for broadcasting and took the opportunity prior to Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Toronto Raptors and Milwaukee Bucks to ensure a couple of media legends were recognized.

Sporting a colourful blazer in keeping with the tradition of Craig Sager’s career, Green also had the inside of his jacket inscribed with the images of both Sager and former ESPN SportsCenter personality Stuart Scott.

Sager and Scott both lost battles with cancer, the former in December of 2016 and the latter in January of 2015. Sager was known for his flamboyant fashion sense as he patrolled the sidelines of the NBA hardwood for decades. Scott became known for his catchphrases on the air and the ability to connect the NBA with hip hop and a younger audience.

Green is a graduate of the NBA Players Association’s Sportscaster U, a sportscasting course in partnership with Syracuse University, and has taken full advantage of opportunities to hit the airwaves this season with his Inside the Green Room podcast, providing some colour commentary during the Rising Stars game at All-Star Weekend, and even doing some reporting for Canadian networks.

The Raptors will be hoping he can find his A-game on the court in time for Game 4, though, as Green has struggled to get going in this post-season. He’s shooting just 35.1 percent from three after hitting 45.5 percent of his shots from downtown during the regular season.
