SAN FRANCISCO (AP) _ New Relic Inc. (NEWR) on Wednesday reported a loss of $10.1 million in its fiscal third quarter.
The San Francisco-based company said it had a loss of 18 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for stock option expense and amortization costs, came to 19 cents per share.
The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 11 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 13 cents per share.
The cloud-based software analytics company posted revenue of $124 million in the period, also beating Street forecasts. Eight analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $120.1 million.
For the current quarter ending in March, New Relic expects its per-share earnings to range from 4 cents to 6 cents.
The company said it expects revenue in the range of $126.5 million to $128.5 million for the fiscal fourth quarter.
New Relic expects full-year earnings in the range of 58 cents to 60 cents per share, with revenue ranging from $473.6 million to $475.6 million.
New Relic shares have risen 31 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $106.24, an increase of 79 percent in the last 12 months.
