A unique event returns to downtown Sturgis.
“Bourbon, Bacon & Blues” will be held 5:30-10:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19, on North Street.
The event was rescheduled after weather postponement in May.
Ryan Conrod, event coordinator at Sturgis Downtown Development Authority, said nine distilleries will be at the event, from as far away as Kentucky and Tennessee. The Aug. 19 date was chosen since all distilleries could attend.
Also featured is music by Honey Creek, a blues-oriented song list appropriate for the event, Conrod said. Food vendors will offer bacon-themed menu items.
Entry fee for “Bourbon, Bacon & Blues” is $5. It's the only downtown event of the year that involves an entry fee, Conrod said.
Bourbon-tasting is available in a package or singles. Packages are $32 (pre-sale) and include six pours or $47 at the door. Price includes entry fee. Pre-sale packages include a commemorative glass. Single-pour is $10 each.
Tasting packages sold for the postponed May event will be honored. New packages are available at sturgisboxoffice.com. A selection of beer and mixed drinks also are available.
