DENVER (AP) _ Resolute Energy Corp. (REN) on Monday reported a loss of $20.6 million in its fourth quarter.
On a per-share basis, the Denver-based company said it had a loss of $1.23. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were 78 cents per share.
The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 80 cents per share.
The independent oil and gas company posted revenue of $62.7 million in the period, also falling short of Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $68.2 million.
For the year, the company reported that its loss narrowed to $161.7 million, or $10.26 per share. Revenue was reported as $164.5 million.
Resolute Energy shares have fallen 12 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Monday, shares hit $36.15, climbing elevenfold in the last 12 months.
