Debrief Me®, one of the globe's leading reusable anti pollution mask brands, has changed the name of its best-selling washable masks to help educate the public.
NEW YORK, NY / ACCESSWIRE / April 8, 2020 / Debrief Me®, the brand behind a market-leading reusable anti pollution mask line, has changed the name of its washable N95 and N99 masks. An industry first, the company has sought to educate the general public to avoid misconceptions when purchasing these types of masks, particularly during this critical time.

The company, which has recently launched its new Premium Everyday reusable air pollution mask online in limited quantities, says the latest change to its existing N95 and N99 line will help eliminate mass confusion for the general public. The move comes after market surveys earlier this year showed consumer confusion when faced with a sea of varying types of masks online.
According to Matt E Silver, Debrief Me®'s CEO, oftentimes when searching for an appropriate face mask online, names and terminologies used can get complex and overwhelming for shoppers.
"We've been selling reusable face masks for several years now, and we have seen a shift in the range of different masks available on the market today. Masks differ in type of materials and technology used, specific purposes-dust, allergies, germ protection, and each contain a wide range of features… all of these features can get very technical, using terms and names that are not familiar to the general consumer," Silver points out.
Debrief Me®'s N95 and N99 face masks have been renamed the Epic x95 and PowerLife x99, respectively. By changing the product line's name, Silver says the company is confident that the general public will better understand each mask's specific purpose and functionality. An example of a common misconception, says Silver, is the use of the ‘N' before style names historically.
"Initially, our company used the ‘N' in our style mask name to let customers know the mask was a ‘NON-Oil' mask, as our masks are not for spray painting or aerosol protection. There is a huge issue with using ‘N' for NIOSH compliance masks, which are used in the medical and occupational sectors. Our masks are for consumer use, which is more important now than ever, and we want to help the public understand these differences. We want to ensure true N95 style masks go to healthcare workers, which is desperately needed at this time."
The American-owned Debrief Me®'s reusable face masks are used globally, and the company reports exponential use in a variety of industries, including trades, construction and healthcare. However, the company has noted an increased use in everyday life, due to a heightened consumer awareness of personal protection and specific environmental events. To meet high demand for reusable, washable masks, Debrief Me® has continued to innovate and assess the latest global needs to add effective protection to its already-popular line.
"We just launched our new Premium Everyday Face Mask, which serves to protect individuals of any age from toxins in the air, dust, germs, and allergies. It is great for immunocompromised individuals living with chronic diseases. We want to help people feel protected, comfortable and live safely," Silver continues.
Debrief Me®'s newest addition uses melt-blown, non-woven polypropylene and multi-layered moisture-treated fabric. The company claims it is the first of its kind to the US market, and it is currently available in limited supply.
