Early Life and Career
Michael Bakari Jordan was the first son born to Donna and Michael A. Jordan in Santa Ana, California, on Feb. 9, 1987. His family moved to New Jersey when he was a toddler. He started modeling when he was a child and switched to acting in 1999.
He landed guest-starring roles on TV shows like “The Cosby Show,” “The Sopranos” and “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.” Jordan joined the cast of “The Wire” as Wallace in 2002. In 2003, he began a 59-episode stint as Reggie Porter Montgomery on the soap “All My Children.” He joined the cast of NBC’s hight school football drama “Friday Night Lights” in 2009 for a 26-episode run.
Although his first film role was in 2007’s “Blackout,” it wasn’t until he won awards for his role as Oscar Grant in “Fruitville Station” in 2013 that he started to become a household name.

He purchased a home in Sherman Oaks, California in 2015 for $1.7 million where he lived with his parents. He still owns the property, which is located in the San Fernando Valley.
He moved out to live on his own in 2019, purchasing a property in Hollywood Hills from Daisy Fuentes for $5.8 million. That home was sold in June of 2022 for $6.95 million — just a smidge under the asking price.
In May 2022, while he was still dating Lori Harvey, Jordan purchased a mansion in Encino, California for $12.5 million.
