RIM rises on BlackBerry view

Research In Motion (RIMM) surged 14% to 11.66, it's highest close since May, after encouraging comments about its upcoming BlackBerry 10 operating system and handsets. RIM plans to launch the OS Jan. 30, with 2 new handsets expected to ship shortly thereafter. National Bank boosted RIM's price target to 15 from 12. RIM's market share has tumbled after the release of the Apple (AAPL) iPhone and handsets based on Google's (GOOG) Android OS.
