TORONTO (AP) _ Rogers Communication Inc. (RCI) on Thursday reported fourth-quarter profit of $379.9 million.
On a per-share basis, the Toronto-based company said it had profit of 73 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 86 cents per share.
The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 81 cents per share.
The communications and media company posted revenue of $2.98 billion in the period, which also topped Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $2.9 billion.
For the year, the company reported profit of $1.59 billion, or $3.08 per share. Revenue was reported as $11.65 billion.
Rogers Communication shares have climbed 6.5 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has climbed slightly more than 9 percent in the last 12 months.
