Roll on up: Park in the Poconos at these campgrounds and RV spots

Are you into van life or prefer to roll up in an RV?

Regardless of the size of your wheels, these Pocono campgrounds have a parking spot waiting for you.

Four Seasons Campgrounds, Scotrun

Stay for a night or extend your visit to a month at this family-friendly campsite located minutes from Route 80 and close to area attractions such as Mount Airy Casino Resort, the Crossings Premium Shopping Outlets and Kalahari Indoor Waterpark.

Each camping site offers cable TV, and has a picnic table and fire pit.

RV sites have full hookups (water, electricity, sewer) and there are also pull-thru sites available.

There are several swimming pools on property, plus outdoor activities such as bingo, horseshoes, baseball, badminton, shuffleboard and volleyball.

And if there anything you forgot to pack, don’t fret: the campground’s store sells food, beverages, ice, and propane and firewood.

Pocono Mountain Kampgrounds of America Holiday, East Stroudsburg

Hikers who traveled by van or RV will love unpacking their tents and setting up at Delaware Water Gap’s Kampgrounds of American (KOA) location.

The grounds offer pull through RV parking sites (big rig space available) and cabin rentals. All RV hookups connect to water, electricity and sewer with 30 and 50 amp generators available.

What to do: The Delaware Water Gap Recreation Area is less a five-minute drive.

Daily rates: $50 RV parking, $110 (cabin rentals)

Mountain Vista Campground, East Stroudsburg

The campsite’s wooded setting is ideal for a secluded getaway while remaining in close proximity to nearby restaurants, attractions and shops.

Accommodations include camp sites and parking for RVs (including big rigs).

There are also a few cabins for rent on property.

Amenities such as free WIFI, a camp store, recreation hall and laundromat.

Daily rates: $46 for tent pop ups (water, electric hookups), $52 (travel trailers), $54 (RV parking)

Ironwood Point, Lake Wallenpaupack

Camp right on Lake Wallenpaupack at this recreation area for water-lovers.

Accomdations include RV parking and tent sites. For the best views, arrive early and park near one of the lakefront walk-in sites.

Activities include boat, kayak, canoe, jet ski, or waterskiing rentals (the marina is located right next door), or fishing excursions.

There are also plenty of nature trails and a children’s playground.

Amenities include restrooms, showers, laundry facilities and a market for last minute supplies.

Daily rates: $40-48 (tent camping), $52 (RV parking)

Peaceful Woodlands Family Campground, Blakeslee

This family-owned 50-acre campground opened in 1977 and sits on the base of Dixon Miller Recreation Area, which is one of highest known points overlooking the Pocono Plateau.

Where to stay: You can bring/rent a tent, cabin or camper — or park your own RV (water, electric and sewer hookups available).

The site gets busy during Nascar Weekend and other race days since it’s located down the road from Pocono Raceway in Long Pond.

Hike (or ride an ATV) at Dixon Miller Recreation Area, play a round of mini-golf, or take a dip in their outdoor, heated pool.

There is also a kid’s playground, small camp market, a recreation hall for parties, and music festivals for guests.

Daily rates: $30-$36 (tent sites),$57 (RV parking up to 30-feet),$80 (rustic cabin), $110 (deluxe cabins), $150 (RV camper rentals)

Stony Mountain Family Campground, Tunnhannock

Enjoy the lakeside views and explore the grounds of this 57-acre campground.

Accommodations include tent sites, RV parking (all RV sites offer 20-50 amp generators), cozy cabins and rental campers.

There is also a small market and laundromat on-site.

Family-friendly activities include fishing (the lake is an estimated 12-acres and is known to be stocked with bass, perch and walleye fish), and swimming in Kaleb’s pond. There are also several nature trails to go hiking.

While you’re there don’t forget to say hi to their friendly resident goats.

The campground hosts parties such as an annual kids fishing derby, Labor Day picnic and Halloween bash.

Pocono Raceway, Long Pond

Feel the need for speed? The fastest way for NASCAR fans to enjoy race weekend July 22-24 is to camp out RV-style at the Tricky Triangle.

All camping guests have access to in-field entertainment including live music Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights and Fireworks on Saturday night (based on specific event schedules), a ”bark” park for dogs, Pocono Mountains activities center and playground, an in-field fan center, outdoor bars and food trucks, and free access to the grandstand on Friday.

RV camping sites come with electric, water and sewage hookups, free shuttle to the gates, restrooms and showers.
