Rollins Inc. (ROL), a major consumer and commercial services company, recently announced the opening of an international franchise in Erbil, Iraq and one in Trinidad and Tobago through its wholly-owned subsidiary Orkin, LLC. The establishment of the franchises in existing markets has enabled Orkin to strengthen its footprint in the Middle East and the Caribbean.
Atlanta-based Orkin is a leading pest-control services provider, protecting humans from termites, insects and rodents. Apart from the U.S. operations, Orkin’s services extend overseas to Canada, Asia, Europe and Mexico. Moreover, Orkin has collaborated with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (:CDC) and eight major universities to conduct research and spread awareness about health hazards related to pests.
Both the newly established international franchises of Rollins are expected to offer quality commercial and residential pest control as well as termite control services to local customers. Orkin will provide initial training to the franchise owners from its headquarters in Atlanta.
A few months back, Orkin had also set up a franchise in Guam, a territory in the U.S. The franchise is owned by Dewan Worldwide, Inc., and provides services to both homeowners and businesses.
Rollins is based in North America and operates through its wholly-owned subsidiaries such as Orkin Canada, HomeTeam Pest Defense, Western Pest Services and The Industrial Fumigant Company.
Rollins currently carries a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold). Other well-positioned stocks in the Business Services sector include Barrett Business Services Inc. (BBSI), Cap Gemini S.A. (CGEMY) and Booz Allen Hamilton Holding Corporation (BAH). All of these have a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy).
