On Thursday, ABC announced it was working on a spinoff to Roseanne called The Conners - and Roseanne Barr won’t be involved at all. The decision comes after Barr made a racist comment about former Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett, leading the network to cancel the revival of Roseanne. Now, Barr has reacted to the news the show will go on without her.

“I regret the circumstances that have caused me to be removed from Roseanne,” she said in an official statement. “I agreed to the settlement in order that 200 jobs of beloved cast and crew could be saved, and I wish the best for everyone involved.”

The Conners will feature John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Sara Gilbert, Lecy Goranson, and Michael Fishman in the roles they originally played on Roseanne. But Barr won’t have any financial or creative input into the new series, after she reached an agreement with the team behind the show.

Executive producer Tom Werner also released a statement about the spinoff, saying, “We are grateful to have reached this agreement to keep our team working as we continue to explore stories of the Conner family.”

Deadline reports that the new series will focus on the family after "a sudden turn of events," a turn that probably leads to Roseanne Conner being written out of the show. The Conners, which will fill the revival series' Tuesday night time slot on ABC, will deal with issues like "parenthood, dating, an unexpected pregnancy, financial pressures, aging and in-laws in working-class America."
