Rosneft sees start of its LNG supplies from Russia's far east in 2028 -Ifax
MOSCOW, Oct 8 (Reuters) - Russian energy giant Rosneft expects to start supplying LNG from its planned plant in Russia's far east in 2028, Interfax news agency reported on Thursday citing the company, later than it had been planned.
Earlier, the start of the supplies to the tune of 6 million tonnes per year had been seen in 2025-2027.
Rosneft and U.S. ExxonMobil, as well as their Japanese and Indian partners, have long planned to start the production of LNG in Russia's far east.
But production of the super-cooled, seaborne gas has so far failed to materialize for many reasons, including international sanctions against Moscow for its role in the Ukraine conflict and lack of gas resources. (Reporting by Vladimir Soldatkin;Editing by Elaine Hardcastle)
