If you were hoping Ryan Reynolds would reveal baby No. 3’s name during his visit to the Today show on Thursday, well, consider your hopes officially dashed. Although he did confirm he and Blake Lively’s third child is another girl, the actor didn’t let any mention of the little one’s moniker slip. He did, however, joke that they hadn’t even picked a name yet for their youngest, who was born in early October.

Reynolds stopped by the popular morning talk segment to promote his new action-thriller on Netflix titled 6 Underground, which debuts on the streaming giant this Friday. Naturally, fans know that Reynolds and Lively have a reputation for being very privacy-minded when it comes to their cute little family — he and Lively share daughters James, 5, and Inez, 3, and rarely offer up personal information or photos of the girls. Still, co-hosts Hoda Kotb and Craig Melvin at least had to try to get the dad-of-three to trip up. But when Melvin asked how Reynolds and Lively came up with the name for their newest daughter, Reynolds was ready with a clever comeback.

“We haven’t yet. We’re gonna be original, and all the letters in her name are silent,” he joked, adding, “I want to give her something to push against in life.”

So, alas, no name news today! However, Reynolds did fully confirm that he is now woefully outnumbered in his house. “It’s all women, and I would have it any other way,” he told Kotb when asked how he was handling that. “I’m doing my part to wipe men off the face of the earth.”

As hilarious as the entire interview was, Reynolds did get serious for just a second while discussing all of his favorite girls. “Leaving the house is getting harder and harder… when they ask, ‘Where are you going?,’ ‘When are you coming home?, ‘Why are you leaving me?’ That sort of thing. So, yeah, it’s a lot.”

Aw, that’ll tug at your heartstrings, huh? Such is life as a working parent, but we have a feeling Reynolds and Lively maintain a healthy balance. In fact, in July, Lively underscored to Marie Claire the emphasis they place on providing their children with a sense of normalcy. “Ryan had a nice, normal upbringing, and we want our kids to have the same normal life that we had,” she told the magazine. “We don’t ever want to rob them of what we had, because we’d feel really selfish.”
